Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 24th district since 2017, recently shared several updates on legislative developments and civil rights issues via social media.
On December 13, 2024, Rep. Carbajal highlighted a proposal by House Agriculture Democrats for economic assistance to farmers: ".@HouseAgDems are proposing $9.8 billion in economic assistance to farmers that is completely paid for and doesn’t add a penny to the deficit. This is real help that we can send to farmers. I'm calling on House Republicans to join us to support our farmers NOW."
Later that day, Rep. Carbajal announced the progress of his bill concerning military family housing: "My bill with @CongressmanGT to improve conditions in military family housing has passed the House & is on track to become law by the end of this year! As a veteran, I'm proud to fight for safe, reliable housing for every single servicemember."
In another post on December 13, Rep. Carbajal commemorated an important civil rights milestone: "Today marks the second anniversary of @POTUS signing the Respect for Marriage Act, which enshrined dignity and respect for all Americans regardless of who they love. Proud of my vote for this landmark civil rights law. I will always stand up for these & other LGBTQ+ rights."
