Rep. Salud Carbajal addresses tariffs and immigration issues on Twitter

Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 24th district since 2017, shared his views on several issues through a series of tweets on December 10, 2024. Carbajal, known for his commitment to local agricultural interests and immigration reform, addressed topics ranging from tariffs affecting Central Coast wine producers to working with political opponents on immigration policy.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Salud Carbajal expressed his dedication to supporting Central Coast wine producers by opposing tariffs that could negatively impact local vintners and farmers. He stated, "Anyone who knows me knows I can’t resist bragging about Central Coast wine... That's why I'm committed to fighting back against tariffs that will hurt our vintners, growers, farmers, and other Central Coast agricultural operations and RAISE your prices."

In another tweet posted later that day at 17:32 UTC, Carbajal highlighted his willingness to collaborate across party lines to protect Dreamers while urging former President Donald Trump to reconsider certain immigration policies.

Later in the evening at 20:34 UTC, Carbajal celebrated a long-standing holiday tradition in Santa Maria with enthusiasm for the community spirit it fosters. He tweeted about the event's significance: "For the past 29 years, the Christmas Parade of Lights has drawn thousands from around the Central Coast to the streets of Santa Maria... The holiday season is looking bright & joyful on the Central Coast!"
