Rep. Salud Carbajal, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 24th district, recently took to social media to share several updates and calls to action with his constituents on the Central Coast.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Carbajal urged his followers to nominate a local woman making an impact for the "2025 Congressional Women of the Year." He emphasized honoring these women's hard work and dedication, encouraging nominations through a provided link. " Last chance to nominate a local woman on the Central Coast who's making a real impact! Submit your nomination for the 2025 Congressional Women of the Year today and help honor her hard work and dedication. "

The following day, March 25, 2025, Rep. Carbajal expressed concern over recent budget cuts affecting essential services. He highlighted that the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County serves over 110,000 people monthly but is now facing funding challenges due to what he described as a harmful Republican budget cut. He criticized this decision by stating: "The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County serves more than 110,00+ people per month on the Central Coast — yet the harmful Republican budget just slashed the funding they rely on." Additionally, he noted that government efficiency should not come at the expense of vulnerable populations: "Government efficiency shouldn't mean taking food from children and families in need."

Later that same day, Rep. Carbajal reached out to young artists in grades 9-12 from the Central Coast area to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. He invited them to submit their artwork via another link shared on his platform: " Calling all young artists from the Central Coast, grades 9-12! Submit your artwork to the Congressional Art Competition."
