His comments touched on immigration policy, actions affecting Coast Guard servicemembers, and budget resolutions impacting health programs.

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Carbajal expressed his concerns about the separation of families due to changes in immigration policies. He stated: "No one should have to live in fear of being separated from their loved ones while taking their kids to school, the doctor, or going to church." He mentioned his involvement in introducing legislation aimed at restoring protections that he claims were removed during Donald Trump's administration.

He warned that such measures would adversely affect Americans' healthcare access by stating: "House Republicans TODAY are moving forward on a budget resolution that would cut TRILLIONS from vital health programs like MediCal."
