Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California's 24th District since 2017, recently shared a series of tweets addressing issues affecting the Central Coast. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara, Carbajal has been an active voice on matters concerning his constituency.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Carbajal alerted residents about an impending major storm heading towards the Central Coast. He urged individuals to "sign up for emergency alerts to stay prepared & up-to-date" and provided several links for further information.

The following day, on February 12, 2025, he addressed concerns regarding executive actions by former President Donald Trump’s administration. In a tweet posted at midnight UTC, Carbajal stated that he and his colleagues from the Central Coast are demanding transparency from the Trump Administration regarding targeted projects and investments: "To fight back against this dangerous executive action..."

In another tweet on the same day and time, Rep. Carbajal highlighted ongoing impacts of Trump's federal funding freeze on the Central Coast. He noted that more than $22 million is currently frozen in California's 24th district alone: "Donald Trump's federal funding freeze is STILL directly impacting the Central Coast." The majority of these funds are tied to programs under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law or Inflation Reduction Act.
