Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 24th district since 2017, shared a series of tweets on February 5, 2025. The tweets addressed various issues including recovery efforts from wildfires in Southern California, criticism of former President Trump's plans and actions, and advocacy for the U.S. Coast Guard.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Carbajal expressed his appreciation for Central Coast organizations like ShelterBox that are aiding recovery efforts in Southern California following major wildfires. He stated: "As Southern California recovers from major wildfires, it’s heartening to see Central Coast organizations like @ShelterBox helping make a difference." He also mentioned his pride in hearing about their assistance to Los Angeles families.

Later that day, Carbajal criticized a plan attributed to former President Trump regarding the Gaza Strip and alleged privacy concerns involving Social Security numbers. He tweeted: "Here's the thing about Trump's half-baked plan to displace millions and turn the Gaza Strip into the Las Vegas Strip with American troops..." warning against being distracted by these actions.

In another tweet on February 5, he addressed what he described as an attack on the Coast Guard by President Trump after firing its Commandant unjustly. Carbajal emphasized his leadership role with Transport Democrats to protect Coast Guard personnel and continue investments in the maritime industry: "After unjustly and recklessly firing the Commandant, President Trump is continuing his attack on the Coast Guard."
