Rep. Salud Carbajal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 24th district, has recently voiced his concerns through social media about several actions taken by then-President Donald Trump. The congressman has been serving since 2017 and previously held a position on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Carbajal expressed his disapproval regarding the firing of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's Director by Donald Trump. He stated, "The CFPB protects your hard-earned dollars from fraud. Donald Trump just fired its Director." He further criticized the decision by saying that instead of supporting measures to protect citizens from financial scams, the President was inviting predatory lenders to exploit American families.

Later on the same day, Rep. Carbajal commented on President Trump's recent trade policies. In a tweet posted at 22:46 UTC, he remarked that less than two days after initiating a trade war with major trading partners, Trump had begun to retreat from his stance. Carbajal noted, "Because we all correctly identified who would pay the price." He suggested that Trump's reversal was an attempt to manage public concern and maintain political appearance.
