Do you have feedback and ideas to contribute to The City of San Luis Obispo’s first Strategic Plan to Prevent and Address Homelessness? The Community Development Department’s Homelessness Response Team is conducting an online survey and asking for community input by November 18, 2022.
Take the survey on Open City Hall, an online forum for civic engagement: https://opentownhall.com/portals/189/Issue_12287
“Issues related to homelessness are complex and require a whole of community approach to see positive change. We are seeking engagement and input from the SLO community to develop an action-oriented plan” said Kelsey Nocket, the City Community Development Department’s Homelessness Response Manager.
The City’s Homelessness Response Team will incorporate feedback from the survey into the City’s strategic plan, which will complement the Countywide Strategic Plan for Homelessness Assistance. Since the City does not receive direct funding from the County of SLO or the State of California to provide homeless services and programs – our plan will focus on the City’s role as a connector to countywide services, advocate for improved programs, and partner in innovating localized strategies to address gaps.
While the City has identified multiple opportunities to make a positive impact in our homelessness response efforts, we do not have the capacity to implement them all simultaneously. Through this survey, we ask that the public provide meaningful input and prioritize resources they believe will have the greatest impact based on their experience within our community.
