City of San Luis Obispo issued the following announcement on Jan. 26.
To provide more reliable service to the community amid a continued shortage of bus drivers, SLO Transit is making additional route schedule changes to its academic service starting Sunday, Jan. 30.
The changes will be effective until further notice.
“We strive to provide reliable service for the community and can only continue doing that with the ongoing driver shortage by changing and suspending some of our routes,” said Transit Manager Austin O’Dell. “Every effort is being made to recruit drivers to eventually restore service. In the meantime, we recommend that riders contact transit dispatch at (805) 541-2877 for current service status prior to planning their bus trip. Riders may need to take an earlier bus to avoid overcrowding.”
