On March 6, 2025, Carbajal expressed concerns over a proposed budget by Donald Trump and House Republicans. He stated that the budget aims to cut nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid while benefiting wealthy donors such as Elon Musk. Carbajal affirmed that "@HouseDemocrats are fighting back to save Medicaid and protect Americans."
The following day, March 7, 2025, Carbajal criticized actions taken by the Trump Administration toward Ukraine's President Zelenskyy. He described these actions as "shameful and completely unacceptable."
