Rep. Salud Carbajal has taken to social media to discuss the ongoing challenges related to child care costs in the United States. Through a series of tweets, Carbajal outlines his efforts and collaborations aimed at addressing these issues.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Carbajal highlighted the bipartisan nature of the child care cost issue, stating that it is "not simply a partisan issue—it's a challenge that families across the country are facing." He expressed gratitude for working with Senators Katie Britt and Tim Kaine, as well as Representative Mike Lawler, in championing affordable child care solutions. The full tweet can be accessed here.

In another tweet from the same day, Carbajal referenced legislation he introduced in 2023 known as the Child Care Investment Act. This act was inspired by discussions with small business owners in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County who identified child care as a significant challenge for businesses and hiring processes. The original post is available here.

Carbajal also shared insights from families and businesses on California's Central Coast regarding their concerns about affordable and accessible child care. In response, he announced the introduction of a bipartisan, bicameral child care package intended to modernize tax programs. More details can be found in his tweet here.
