PolyRhythmics, Cal Poly’s percussion ensemble, will give its annual concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Pavilion of the Performing Arts Center's Christopher Cohan Center.
“We’ve got a good one for you this year,” said John Astaire, the ensemble’s director. Among the works to be performed are “Starfall,” a new composition for percussion quintet and piano by James Vilseck; and “Ionisation,” Edgar Varèse’s landmark percussion ensemble work written in 1933.
The performance is free and open to the public. Parking permits are required. For more information on visitor parking on campus, visit Cal Poly’s Transportation and Parking Services website.
The recital is sponsored by Cal Poly’s Music Department and College of Liberal Arts. For more information, call the Music Department at 805-756-2406 or visit the department’s calendar website.
