Salud Carbajal, a U.S. Congress member representing California’s 24th district, has recently made several assertive statements on social media addressing foreign policy and domestic issues. Carbajal, who has served in Congress since 2017 and replaced Lois Capps, continually voices his support for international and national matters concerning his constituents.

On April 17, Carbajal emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia. He stated, "We cannot give up on the people of Ukraine. To stop now would be a gift to Putin and all of our foreign adversaries." This tweet highlights his meeting with the Coalition for Ukraine, where he reaffirmed his support for Ukraine's struggle against the Russian invasion.

On April 18, Carbajal expressed relief upon hearing news about Kilmar, mentioning a meeting facilitated through Senator Chris Van Hollen's efforts. He tweeted, "I'm relieved to see Kilmar is alive and thankful for Senator @ChrisVanHollen's relentless push to make this meeting possible." He advocated for continued efforts to ensure Kilmar's safe return home.

Later that day, Carbajal addressed domestic issues, particularly criticizing actions against Social Security and Medicaid. He tweeted, "Social Security and Medicaid are lifelines for seniors, children, and countless others — but Trump and Republicans in Congress are waging an all-out assault on both. Let’s talk about it." This signals his intention to engage in discussions on protecting these vital programs.
