DE&I High-Impact Grants Public Information Session Rescheduled

A public information session about the City of San Luis Obispo’s High-Impact DE&I Grants has been rescheduled and will now take place on Zoom on August 2, 2022 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The session was originally set for July 27, but the date had to be changed due to scheduling conflicts.

Nonprofit organizations providing local projects, programs, or initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the City of San Luis Obispo can apply online for this grant opportunity. Applications are due on August 31, 2022 by 5 p.m. Late submissions will not be considered.

The grants will be awarded to programs that are focused on narrowing equity gaps that disproportionately impact marginalized communities in San Luis Obispo. These gaps include, are not limited to:

  • Physical and mental health services
  • Education
  • Housing
  • Criminalization
  • Food security
  • Community representation
The High-Impact DE&I Grants are administered through the City’s newly created Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which represents the City’s forward-facing commitment to meaningful, structural and lasting change. The City of San Luis Obispo is offering a total of $300,000 in funding and plans to award the funds in early 2023.

One of San Luis Obispo’s Major City Goals is centered around diversity, equity and inclusion, specifically to make San Luis Obispo a more welcoming and inclusive city for all. The purpose of this grant funding is to address equity gaps within our community and enhance the sense of belonging for those most marginalized. This funding allocation is an effort to uplift and support local projects, programs, or initiatives that help San Luis Obispo become a more welcoming, inclusive, equitable, and safe place.
