Join the Summer Fun in Grover Beach!

The City of Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department is excited to offer residents and visitors a wide range of programs, classes and events this summer.

“The Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department is committed to bringing the community together through our programs, special events and activities. We invite residents to fill their sunny days with live music, engaging classes and events that bring the Grover Beach community to life!” said Parks and Recreation Director Kathy Petker. “My favorite part of summer is seeing musicians, Grover Beach residents and attendees from all over the region connect at our annual Summer Content Series in Ramona Garden Park. Thank you to all the volunteers and City staff that uplift our community by making these events possible.”

The Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department provides fun and enriching activities year-round for everyone to enjoy. As the summer heats up, the City is offering a robust variety of classes that allow residents to explore new interests and engage in fun activities. Residents can roll into the summer with confidence at the Doomsday Skate School or discover new artistic talents through the Painting with Acrylics and Oil class. Children can develop their engineering skills and imagination at Lego Camp, while adults can increase their athleticism in tennis lessons or Tai Chi classes.

Grover Beach is always looking to expand its community engagement programs and offer unique classes for residents to participate in. Apply to teach a class through the Recreation Department Website to share your skills and hobbies with the community.

The Annual Summer Concert Series is still taking place every Sunday until August 21. Residents are invited to check out the groovy side of Grover Beach at the live showings held at Ramona Garden Park. The lineup includes 80s Rock, Pop, Country, Blues and many other artists that everyone can enjoy.

To close out the summer, Grover Beach is hosting the Annual Stone Soup Music Festival presented by the Clark Center on August 27 and 28. The community is invited to celebrate diversity through food, arts and crafts while enjoying the constant flow of music at two stages from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Beyond these scheduled events, community members can also access a wide range of beautiful parks and community centers to host their summer activities. These facilities are perfect for a birthday party, business meeting, family reunion, wedding reception or other special event.

Get out your rackets because two new pickleball court lines were recently painted at Mentone Basin Park and will be collocated with the existing tennis court. Contact the Grover Beach Parks & Recreation Department at gbparks@groverbeach.org or (805) 473-4580 for more information regarding scheduling and how to volunteer with the new program. For more information about classes, events and other recreational activities, please explore the Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Website.
