CITY OF GROVER: City of Grover Beach Hosts Grover Beach 101 and Highlights New Mobile Command Vehicle

Event

City of Grover issued the following announcement on Apr. 20.

The City of Grover Beach is hosting its first Grover Beach 101 (GB 101) event for community members to learn more about City services and civic engagement opportunities on May 11, 2022 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Ramona Garden Park. The event will include a light dinner and families are welcome.

“The City of Grover Beach has seven departments and multiple divisions within each. Hence, there are a lot of services our City provides that community members may not know about or be familiar with. As a City, we want to remain transparent with residents and let them know how they can participate in local government, such as running for office or volunteering,” stated Grover Beach City Manager Matthew Bronson.

To highlight the Police Department’s investments in public safety, the department will present its new mobile command vehicle they received in March 2022 at an “Open House” from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The new vehicle replaces a 28-year-old vehicle and will be deployed to critical incidents, crime scenes, community events and other situations requiring a mobile command post. In addition to the mobile command unit, departments will demonstrate a Utility Task Vehicle used by the Five Cities Fire Authority, equipment Public Works, and Department Heads will be available to speak with residents about their departments and the services they provide.

“The City prioritizes Grover Beach’s quality of life and is always looking for innovative ways to connect with our community. We are excited to bring GB 101 to life and put our residents, businesses and City staff at the center of a talk about our services and how people can participate in their City,” said Grover Beach Mayor Jeff Lee.
