CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO: Traffic Signal Getting Upgrade on Foothill Boulevard

Trafficlight

City of San Luis Obispo issued the following announcement on Apr. 6.

The traffic signal on Foothill Boulevard will be upgraded, including accessibility enhancements to the pedestrian signals and improvements to increase visibility of the signal indicators starting next week.

Construction will take place during the evening and early morning hours (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.) along Foothill Boulevard between the California Fresh driveway and Chorro streets for several months starting as early as Monday, April 11, 2022.

Electronic message signs and additional lighting will be provided within the work zone, but drivers should expect delays and use alternative routes during the late evening and early morning hours. Please drive slowly and safely through the construction zone.

Pedestrians should expect temporary sidewalk closures on Foothill Boulevard during evening hours, with detours provided to maintain connectivity for people walking.

These signal improvements are fully funded by the private development project at 790 Foothill Boulevard and are pursuant to recommendations in the City’s Traffic Safety Report.
