CITY OF ATASCADERO: City Manager's Report to the City Council 08-10-2021

Event

City of Atascadero issued the following announcement on Aug. 11.

CM Report Slideshow

We’re Back In The Council Chambers This Evening!

Tonight’s Council meeting is a new, hybrid-combination version, to allow for virtual, as well as in-person, public attendance!  Our IT Department has been working very hard to make this somewhat technically complicated, combo-type of meeting possible, so, thank you Luke Knight and our IT Staff!  We ask that everyone please be sure to follow the current safety guidelines for mask wearing.

Be Sure To See All Of The New Downtown Murals!

  • At Bru Coffeehouse – a beautiful mural entitled “Nature Is For Everyone”, by artist Brandy Pippin, represents the variety of wildlife found in Atascadero.  This is the first installation of the Equality Mural Project.
  • At Sherwin Williams – “Tumi Ishi Blocks”, by artist Isaac Yorke, represents the diversity in our community.  Each of the blocks depicted in this mural are different, just as each of us are different. This is the second installation for the Equality Mural Project.
  • At The Artery – there’s a new mural now on display, created by Off the Wall Custom Creations, which depicts intricate shapes that will keep you coming back to look again, as your eyes see something different each time!
New Businesses In Town!

  • We have several new businesses in the Block Shops, located right next door to Colony Market & Deli, near the corner of Traffic Way and El Camino Real - including:
  •  Negranti Creamery
  •  Stellar + Sun Hat Company
  •  Ancient Owl Beer & Bottle Shoppe.
  • Suprema Meat Market – located at the former Tastee Freeze off of East Front Road and Montecito Avenue – with Harris Ranch beef along with groceries, produce and home-made food;
  • Spec’s By Kyla – Boutique Eyewear – at 5808 Traffic Way, in the El Paseo Plaza next to Grape Encounters Empourium;
  • BB’s Vogue Fashion Boutique – at 9473 El Camino Real, near the intersection of Santa Rosa Road;
  • Ann’s Place, located in the Oaks Shopping Plaza on El Camino Real, in front of Hobby Headquarters.
Be sure to stop in and help support these members of our local business community!
