5.1% of citizens unemployed in San Luis Obispo County in 2021

San Luis Obispo County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 7,059 people out of the 282,771 living in San Luis Obispo County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in San Luis Obispo County has increased compared to the 4.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in San Luis Obispo County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 131,901 people who had a job during that time, 1,762 were employed in the Armed Forces and 130,139 belonged to the civilian labor force.
