San Luis Obispo County to Offer Collection Locations for Storm Debris

Due to high demand for waste disposal resources, the County of San Luis Obispo will be offering free collection sites throughout the county for storm related debris.  Non-storm related debris will not be accepted.

Debris collection bins will be deployed on Monday, January 23 and will be available at the following locations and times:

  • Oceano: Oceano County Airport parking lot.  Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
  • Santa Margarita: Santa Margarita Community Hall parking lot, 22501 I St. Monday–Saturday 8:00 AM–12:00PM
  • Creston: Creston Rodeo Grounds, 6180 Webster Rd.  Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Due to state and federal regulations, storm debris shall be sorted into the following:

  • Recyclables
  • Organic/yard debris (no dirt)
  • Furniture/mattresses
  • Appliances (except those categorized as E-waste)
Household Hazardous Waste, E-waste, and soil will not be accepted. Visit RecoverSLO.org for more information on hazardous and E-waste.
