Biocom Life Science Association of California issued the following announcement on Aug. 9.

Biocom California, the association representing the California life science industry, today announced a call for entries for the sixth annual Life Science Catalyst Awards. The awards are designed to identify accomplished and up-and-coming academics, entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders and business advisers who are transforming the California life science industry before reaching their 40th birthday. Biocom California is accepting nominees from the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego and Los Angeles regions, with a separate judging process designated for each area.

“The last year-and-a-half has truly shown just how critical the life science industry is for maintaining the health of our globe, and we would not be in the position we are today without the rising leaders in the field who are marking this change,” said Joe Panetta, president and CEO of Biocom California. “The Life Science Catalyst Awards offer an opportunity to recognize the young trailblazers who are improving human health not only in our Golden State, but across the planet.”

Nominations for the award will be accepted until September 3, 2021. Honorees will be highlighted in the Biocom California LifeLines digital magazine, recognized in a social media campaign and celebrated at the Biocom California Annual Dinner on November 18, 2021. The Life Science Catalyst Awards will honor standouts from:

  • Biotechnology (healthcare, industrial, environmental)
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Genomics
  • Medical Devices
  • Diagnostics
  • Digital Health
  • Universities and Research Institutes
  • Business Consulting
