30 percent of applicants to California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo were admitted for fall 2018

At California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, 97 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in San Luis Obispo enrolled 22,013 students in fall 2018, including 21,098 in undergraduate and 915 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

83 percent of undergraduates are residents of California, and 16 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (54 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (17 percent).

The school admitted 30 percent of the 54,663 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 27 percent enrolled.
