Rep. Salud Carbajal, who represents California’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted affordable housing initiatives and environmental conservation efforts in a series of social media posts on April 10 and 11, 2026.
On April 10, Carbajal visited Ventura Springs, a community developed by veterans for veterans and their families. He wrote, “Ventura Springs is a community developed by veterans to provide affordable housing for veterans and their families. I was grateful to have the opportunity to tour the area with Program Director Tony Briggs. Their work is a powerful reminder that every veteran deserves a safe,”.
Later that day, he marked an environmental milestone by noting the anniversary of a local landmark: “Today we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Carrizo Plain National Monument, an area home to incredible biodiversity, scenic landscapes, and unique cultural history. I am proud to lead legislation in Congress to increase protection to some of the most vulnerable parts of”.
The following day, Carbajal addressed housing affordability during a roundtable discussion with stakeholders: “I hosted a roundtable discussion along with Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco on affordable housing. We need consistent support from every level of government to build more affordable homes, and I’ll continue working with local partners to reduce housing costs on the”.
Carbajal has served as California’s 24th district representative since 2017 after previously serving on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara at age 58, he graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990.
