Rep. Salud Carbajal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 24th district, has expressed his views on various issues through recent tweets. Carbajal, who has served in Congress since 2017 and previously on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, used social media to address actions by former President Donald Trump and offer assistance to constituents.
On January 28, 2025, Rep. Carbajal accused Donald Trump of misappropriating funds allocated by Congress for essential services. He stated: “Donald Trump just illegally seized funds approved by Congress to: Feed kids House veterans Support first responders Help working families .@HouseDemocrats and I will fight this blatant theft of the American taxpayer.”
In a tweet dated January 29, 2025, Rep. Carbajal offered assistance to those needing expedited passport renewals. He wrote: “Are you or someone you know traveling soon and need a passport renewed fast? My team and I are happy to help speed things along.”
Later that day, he commented on President Trump’s temporary withdrawal from an executive action impacting the Central Coast. On January 29, 2025, he tweeted: “President Trump has retreated, for the time being, on his dangerous and illegal executive action that would have devastated the Central Coast. While this fight is far from over, don’t lose sight of this: when we all stood together and called out extremist policy, we won.”
