U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal, who serves California’s 24th district, addressed several national and international issues in a series of posts on September 10 and 11, 2025.

On September 10, Carbajal criticized a recent decision by the Trump administration, stating, “Make no mistake: this will be a big gift to Vladimir Putin and our other adversaries around the world. The Trump administration must reverse this decision immediately.” The statement highlights concerns about U.S. foreign policy and its perceived impact on global adversaries.

Later that day, Carbajal responded to news of Charlie Kirk’s murder with a message of condolence and condemnation of political violence. On September 10 he wrote, “I am horrified to hear about Charlie Kirk’s murder. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and the Utah Valley University community. Political violence is never acceptable. It must be fully condemned and rejected.”

The following day, Carbajal commented on another school shooting in the United States. On September 11 he posted, “A truly tragic day in America. Another school shooting leaves students critically injured. Heartbreak after heartbreak.

We need real action on commonsense gun laws to end these devastating shootings in our schools.”

Salud Carbajal has represented California’s 24th district in Congress since 2017 after serving on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara, Carbajal graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in 1990.
