Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 24th District since 2017, recently took to social media to share various messages. Carbajal replaced former Congress member Lois Capps and has a history of public service dating back to his time on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017.
On March 8, 2025, Rep. Carbajal invited the public to recognize women on the Central Coast who have shown remarkable passion and dedication in their communities. He urged nominations for the “2025 Congressional Women of the Year” award with his tweet: “Know a woman on the Central Coast who’s making waves in the community with her passion and dedication? It’s time to give her the recognition she deserves! Nominate her for the 2025 Congressional Women of the Year today.”
On March 10, Carbajal expressed concern over recent aviation incidents while criticizing key figures in transportation for their focus elsewhere: “In the past few weeks, we’ve witnessed several deadly plane crashes. Yet, instead of tackling this serious issue, the Secretary of Transportation and Elon Musk—the unelected billionaire in charge—are busy arguing over firing air traffic controllers at their cabinet meeting.”
