Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 24th district since 2017, recently shared several updates on his official social media account. Carbajal replaced Lois Capps in Congress and previously served on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017.
On December 4, 2024, Rep. Carbajal announced a significant financial boost for Ventura’s water recycling program. He stated, “Proud to deliver @cityofventura’s VenturaWaterPure water recycling program an additional $60,000,000 from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law!”
Later that day, he addressed housing costs through another post at 18:36 UTC. He wrote in Spanish about efforts to make homeownership more accessible: “Los costos de vivienda están demasiado alto…restablecer el Sueño Americano para que todos podamos cuidar a nuestras familias, comprar una casa, y jubilarnos con dignidad.”
In a subsequent update on December 4 at 22:10 UTC, Carbajal celebrated legislative progress regarding local infrastructure by stating that his bill had passed the House unanimously. He shared his enthusiasm with the message: “My bill to rename the Post Office in Santa Maria for longtime Mayor Larry Lavagnino just passed the House in a unanimous vote!”
