Salud Carbajal, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, has recently shared insights on various issues through his social media posts. Carbajal, who succeeded Lois Capps and previously served on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, has been vocal about his legislative efforts and community engagements.

On May 13, 2025, Rep. Salud Carbajal expressed pride in collaborating with fellow representatives Jim Costa, David Valadao, and Brian Fitzpatrick on a bipartisan bill aimed at addressing the threat of catastrophic wildfires in the Western United States. He highlighted his recent speech on the House floor regarding this commonsense solution to protect communities. “As catastrophic wildfires continue to threaten the Western U.S., I’m proud to have worked on a commonsense solution alongside @RepJimCosta, @RepDavidValadao, and @RepBrianFitz.”

On May 14, 2025, Carbajal met with board members from the Ventura Unified School District and Cayucos Elementary School District to discuss contemporary challenges faced by students in classrooms. Emphasizing his commitment to public education investment, he stated: “Met with the board members from the Ventura Unified School District and the Cayucos Elementary School District to discuss the challenges students face in today’s classrooms.”

Later that day, Carbajal criticized Republican policies during a House Agriculture Democrats markup session. He accused Republicans of prioritizing tax benefits for billionaires over addressing child hunger issues. His remarks were directed towards perceived inequities in fiscal policies: “Republicans are making it clear: they’re fine with children going hungry—as long as billionaires like Elon Musk get their lavish tax giveaways.”
