Later that day, Carbajal criticized a plan attributed to former President Trump regarding the Gaza Strip and alleged privacy concerns involving Social Security numbers. He tweeted: “Here’s the thing about Trump’s half-baked plan to displace millions and turn the Gaza Strip into the Las Vegas Strip with American troops…” warning against being distracted by these actions.
In another tweet on February 5, he addressed what he described as an attack on the Coast Guard by President Trump after firing its Commandant unjustly. Carbajal emphasized his leadership role with Transport Democrats to protect Coast Guard personnel and continue investments in the maritime industry: “After unjustly and recklessly firing the Commandant, President Trump is continuing his attack on the Coast Guard.”
