Rep. Salud Carbajal, who represents California’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of topics on his official Twitter account this week, from international affairs to domestic policy and social justice.
On November 19, 2025, Carbajal commented on ongoing discussions regarding Ukraine’s role in peace negotiations, stating “Any deal that excludes Ukraine is both a gift to Putin and an injustice to the Ukrainian servicemembers and civilians who lost their lives during this war. Ukraine must have a seat at any negotiating table dealing with their own future.”
The following morning, on November 20, 2025, he highlighted bipartisan efforts aimed at supporting rural communities: “It was great to start the day discussing bipartisan actions Congress can take to improve early childhood development in rural communities. I appreciate everyone who brought great insight into this critical discussion, including Democratic Whip Katherine Clark, Rep. Leger”.
Later that same day, Carbajal marked Transgender Day of Remembrance by honoring victims of violence within the transgender community and calling for continued advocacy: “Today we honor the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost through acts of violence and condemn the discrimination regularly faced by the community. We must keep speaking up for — and standing with — our transgender family members, friends, and neighbors.”
Carbajal has represented California’s 24th District since 2017 after serving on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors for over a decade. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990.
