Rep. Salud Carbajal, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, recently addressed several legislative and community issues in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On April 30, 2026, Carbajal criticized recent changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), stating, “In California, over 200,000 people have lost SNAP benefits since Republicans passed their cuts in Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, and their farm bill locks those cuts in place. The post highlighted his opposition to the proposed farm bill and ongoing efforts to restore SNAP funding.
Later that day, Carbajal commented on the passage of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill. He wrote on April 30, 2026: “Democrats held the line & Republicans caved. The DHS funding bill passed the House with ZERO dollars for ICE. House Republicans kept DHS shut down for over 70 days, cutting off funds for FEMA, TSA, the Coast Guard, & more. They played games with your safety while making life https://t.co/bMPSbLS9Mm”.
On May 1, 2026, Carbajal shared his involvement in local community initiatives by announcing his participation at an event in Ventura County: “I was honored to speak at the grand opening of the Ventura Family Justice Center’s new domestic violence shelter. This shelter will create a safe space where survivors can access counseling, legal assistance, crisis support, and much more. I’m proud to have worked with the https://t.co/SLO1wXMqXR”.
