Rep. Salud Carbajal, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 24th district, recently shared his thoughts on several important topics through a series of tweets. Carbajal, who has been in Congress since 2017 and previously served on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, often uses social media to communicate his views and commitments.

On May 17, 2025, Carbajal commemorated Armed Forces Day by honoring military personnel. In his tweet, he stated: “Today on #ArmedForcesDay, we honor the brave men and women in uniform—past and present—who defended our nation with courage and sacrifice. As a veteran myself, I remain committed to ensuring they receive the support and respect they’ve earned.”

Later that day, Carbajal addressed economic concerns related to trade policies initiated by former President Trump. He tweeted: “Now Walmart is warning about rising prices as a direct consequence of Trump’s chaotic trade policies. Hardworking families are already struggling with inflation—these start-stop tariffs are only making it worse.”

On May 19, 2025, Carbajal reflected on the anniversary of Head Start’s creation. He expressed his dedication to this educational program with a tweet stating: “On this day 60 years ago, Head Start was created to give every child—no matter their background—a fair shot at success. Today, it provides early education, health care, and family support for 833,000 children across the country. I am committed to protecting this critical program.”

Salud Carbajal was born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and now resides in Santa Barbara. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990 with a BA.
