U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal, who serves California’s 24th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on his social media account on August 26 and 27, 2025. The posts addressed topics including the Federal Reserve’s independence, wind energy policy, and a recent school shooting in Minneapolis.

The following day, Carbajal criticized former President Donald Trump’s stance on renewable energy: “Trump’s attack on wind power will cost our country countless jobs. While the rest of the world moves forward to take advantage of this new energy source, Trump is dragging us backwards. We can’t afford to let these reckless actions stand.”

Later that same day, Carbajal responded to reports of violence at a Minnesota school: “I am devastated by the horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. My heart is with the children, teachers, and loved ones reeling from this terrible act of violence.

We cannot accept a nation where deadly gun violence in our schools, houses of worship, or”.

Salud Carbajal has represented California’s 24th District since 2017 after serving over a decade on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and now residing in Santa Barbara, he graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in 1990.
