Rep. Salud Carbajal, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for California’s 24th district, has been vocal on various social issues through recent social media posts. Representing a district since 2017 after succeeding Lois Capps, Carbajal addressed concerns on food assistance programs, trade policies, and the aviation workforce shortage.

On April 1, 2025, Rep. Carbajal highlighted the reliance of 42 million Americans and 28,000 Central Coast families on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), expressing concern over proposed cuts by Republicans. He emphasized his and his colleagues’ commitment to defending “SNAP and fighting for the families who rely on this.”

In a separate post on April 2, 2025, Carbajal criticized the impact of tariffs imposed by Donald Trump. He articulated his view by stating, “Let me make this clear: tariffs = taxes on American consumers.” He accused the former president of raising costs on essential goods contrary to his promises of cost reduction.

On the same day, April 2, 2025, Carbajal addressed the staffing challenges in the nation’s air traffic control centers. He expressed concern over job cuts under the current administration, stating, “Instead of working to strengthen the aviation workforce, this Administration is cutting jobs.” Noting his discussions with air traffic controllers, Carbajal underscored the personal impact of these staffing issues.
