Rep. Salud Carbajal, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, used his social media platform this week to address concerns about health care enrollment and government policy decisions.
On May 27, Carbajal commented on projected declines in Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollment: “The number of Americans enrolled in the Affordable Care Act health insurance program is expected to drop by over 20% this year. Why? Trump and Republican policies have made healthcare unaffordable.”
The following day, May 28, he highlighted a statement from Rick Miller regarding defense policy strategy: “This quote says it all: ‘It’s almost strategically backwards,’ said Rick Miller, a retired Navy captain and vice chair of the Florida Defense Alliance, a state advisory body. That’s why I previously led a letter to the Administration with @SenAlexPadilla and @SenAdamSchiff to”
On May 29, Carbajal posted another brief message criticizing corruption: “This is what extreme corruption looks like.”
Salud Carbajal has served as California’s 24th District representative since replacing Lois Capps in 2017 and previously held office on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato, in 1964, Carbajal now resides in Santa Barbara. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree.
