Rep. Salud Carbajal, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, used his social media platform to mark significant national events and highlight local issues in a series of posts on November 10 and 11, 2025.
On November 10, Carbajal commemorated the anniversary of the United States Marine Corps by posting: “For 250 years, the United States Marine Corps has embodied courage, sacrifice, and loyalty. As a Marine, I’m proud to share in this tradition. To every Marine, past and present: thank you for your service and devotion to our nation. Semper Fi!”
Later that day, he addressed food insecurity during a visit to Food Share of Ventura County. In his post dated November 10, Carbajal wrote: “At Food Share of Ventura County, I saw firsthand the compassion and dedication of volunteers helping families put food on the table during this difficult time — but it shouldn’t be this way.

On Veterans Day, November 11, Carbajal shared his experience at a local event honoring military service members: “I was honored to spend Veterans Day at the Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum in SLO, joined by extraordinary men and women who served our nation. To each veteran, and to your families who have shared in the burdens of service, our country extends its deepest gratitude for”
Carbajal’s public statements reflect both his personal connection as a former Marine and his ongoing advocacy for veterans’ issues and social welfare programs. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara, Carbajal has represented California’s 24th District since replacing Lois Capps in Congress after serving more than a decade on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. He is an alumnus of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
