Rep. Salud Carbajal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 24th district, recently shared several updates on projects and initiatives impacting his constituents via social media. These updates highlight significant developments in infrastructure and environmental conservation within the region.

On November 17, 2024, Rep. Carbajal announced that “Earlier this year, @GoletaWater received $2 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for their first new well in 40 years!” This funding is part of a broader effort to improve water infrastructure and ensure reliable access to clean water.

In another post on the same day, Carbajal celebrated the Goleta Water District’s 80th anniversary by highlighting their new battery storage project. He noted that this initiative will enable the district to continue providing clean water during power outages while reducing carbon emissions: “Celebrating Goleta Water District’s 80th anniversary included their new battery storage project — which will help them continue delivering clean water during power outages AND cut down on their carbon pollution.”

Additionally, Carbajal expressed his satisfaction with the forthcoming designation of the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary. On November 17, he remarked: “After tireless advocacy, the final designation of the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary is just days away.” He acknowledged collaborative efforts with Central Coast Indigenous voices and the Biden-Harris Administration in preserving cultural heritage and protecting marine ecosystems.
