Rep. Salud Carbajal, who has been serving California’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared his views and initiatives through a series of tweets. Carbajal succeeded Lois Capps and previously served on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. He was born in Moroleón, Guanajuato, in 1964 and currently resides in Santa Barbara.

On March 23, 2025, Rep. Carbajal commemorated the signing of the Affordable Care Act by President Obama and Democrats 15 years ago. He highlighted its impact on nearly 24 million Americans by providing quality health care. Carbajal emphasized his commitment to protecting this legislation from Republican opposition: “15 years ago today, President Obama and Democrats signed the transformative Affordable Care Act into law, providing quality health care to nearly 24 million Americans.”

The following day, March 24, he encouraged nominations for local women making significant contributions to their communities on the Central Coast for the Congressional Women of the Year award: ” Is there a local woman on the Central Coast whose impact is inspiring others?” He invited community members to nominate deserving individuals for recognition.

Later that day, Rep. Carbajal criticized the Trump Administration’s handling of national security matters. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, he expressed his intention to seek accountability: “This article completely exposes the Trump Administration’s incompetent and irresponsible methods of handling our national security.”
