Salud Carbajal, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, recently shared his views on several important topics through a series of tweets. The congressman has been an active political figure, having served in the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors before joining Congress.
On May 12, 2025, Carbajal acknowledged “Happy Jewish American Heritage Month! All month long we celebrate the contributions of the Jewish community on our nation’s culture, values, and history.” This tweet highlighted his recognition of the cultural and historical impact of the Jewish community in America.
Later that day, he criticized House Republicans for their legislative actions. He stated that “House Republicans revealed their ‘big, beautiful bill’ in the dead of night because it rips away health care from more than 8 million Americans — all to give extravagant tax breaks to the ultra-rich.” His remarks pointed to concerns about healthcare access and economic disparities.
In another tweet on May 12, Carbajal expressed gratitude towards healthcare professionals during National Nurses Week. He wrote “During National Nurses Week, we recognize the hardworking nurses and caregivers who work tirelessly every day to help their patients. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to providing lifesaving care.” This message underscored his appreciation for those working in healthcare services.
