On April 16, 2026, Carbajal addressed economic concerns facing American families, stating: “This Tax Day, Republicans are claiming to put money back in the pockets of working people – but their agenda has made everything more expensive for everyday Americans. Carbajal has served as a member of Congress since replacing Lois Capps in 2017 and previously held office on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara, he graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
