Rep. Salud Carbajal, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, has recently voiced concerns on social media about the current administration’s policies and actions affecting national parks, military deployments, and transparency in Congress.

On July 20, 2025, Carbajal posted about the state of U.S. national parks during National Park and Recreation Month: “Our country is lucky to have so many beautiful National Parks to explore, but they’ve recently come under pressure from this Administration’s disruptive workforce and budget cuts. This National Park and Recreation Month, we must recommit ourselves to defending our parks so future https://t.co/7xwmfMmRA8”.

The following day, on July 21, 2025, he criticized former President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles: “Trump deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles for what troops themselves called a “fake mission.” All part of the President’s anti-immigrant political stunts. We deserve leaders who use the military to protect us, not to score political points. https://t.co/P7MLy9rzPu”.

On July 22, 2025, Carbajal addressed congressional actions regarding the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein: “Republicans are shutting down the House until September to block a vote on releasing the Epstein files. They’d rather skip work than give you the truth. This is total BS, and we all know it. What are they trying to hide?”

Carbajal has served in Congress since replacing Lois Capps in 2017 after previously working as a member of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. He was born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently resides in Santa Barbara at age 58. Carbajal earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990.
