Rep. Salud Carbajal, who represents California’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues ranging from port investments to food prices and agricultural trade policy in a series of posts on November 19, 2025.
In one post, Carbajal highlighted a meeting with local labor and port officials: “Great to sit down with ILWU Local 46, as well as Port of Hueneme and Oxnard district officials to talk about supporting our ports, longshoremen, and local economy. Investing in our ports is essential for the small businesses and communities that rely on them.” (November 19, 2025)
Later that day, he commented on rising food costs and criticized the President’s priorities: “Food prices hit record highs this week, but the President didn’t notice. He was busy hosting a fancy dinner for Saudi royalty.” (November 19, 2025)
Carbajal also visited an agricultural facility in Oxnard and shared observations about California’s role in global trade: “At a visit to the Bayer facility in Oxnard, I got to see firsthand how vegetable seeds are processed, packaged, and shipped across the country and around the world. California’s agricultural industry plays a critical role in the global economy, and we need trade policies that” (November 19, 2025)
Salud Carbajal has represented California’s 24th District since replacing Lois Capps in 2017. Before his congressional service, he was a member of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara at age 58, Carbajal graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in 1990.
