Rep. Salud Carbajal, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, used his social media platform this week to address concerns about health insurance costs, rising consumer prices, and environmental policy rollbacks.
On December 2, 2025, Carbajal urged constituents not to delay in reviewing their health insurance plans for the upcoming year. He stated: ” Don’t wait to get check your 2026 health insurance plan. The Republican-manufactured health care crisis may have impacted your 2026 health insurance costs — so don’t delay in reviewing your plan. Visit https://t.co/Emp2VDIhdG to compare plans before January 31st.”
Later that day, he commented on economic issues during the holiday season: “As the holidays begin, Trump and Republican policies are pushing up prices on everything from gas to toys. They lied about lowering costs on ‘day 1’ and now we’re all paying the price. @HouseDemocrats are fighting to make the economy work for everyone.”
On December 3, Carbajal reported attending a local event focused on environmental concerns in Santa Barbara: “Joined the Community Environmental Council in Santa Barbara for a listening session to discuss how the Trump administration’s harmful rollbacks of longstanding environmental protections are threatening our local environment. Carbajal has represented California’s Central Coast since replacing Lois Capps in Congress and previously served as a member of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 until his election to Congress in 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and residing in Santa Barbara, he is an alumnus of UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree earned in 1990.
