Rep. Salud Carbajal, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 24th district since 2017, posted a series of updates on his social media account in early January 2026 addressing issues ranging from government transparency to foreign policy and constituent engagement.
On January 2, Carbajal announced the launch of a new state initiative aimed at oversight of federal law enforcement, stating: ” California has launched a new online portal for reporting misconduct by federal agents. Accountability and transparency matter. Learn more and access the portal here: https://t.co/ZbOZBgUHth”.
Two days later, on January 3, he addressed U.S. foreign policy concerning Venezuela, writing: “The Trump administration’s decision to attack Venezuela was a reckless and deeply destabilizing action. Launching unilateral military strikes and seizing Maduro without a clear plan for what comes next risks creating a dangerous power vacuum — one that could plunge the entire”.
On January 5, Carbajal encouraged constituents from California’s Central Coast to remain engaged with his office: “Want the latest updates from our office and information about upcoming events on the Central Coast? Subscribe to my newsletter and stay connected. https://t.co/2RUFqBEYBm https://t.co/LHo5nEbyOC”.
Carbajal has represented California’s 24th District in Congress since succeeding Lois Capps in 2017. Before joining Congress, he served on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964, Carbajal currently resides in Santa Barbara and is an alumnus of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
