Salud Carbajal succeeded Lois Capps as representative of California’s 24th district in Congress in 2017 after previously serving on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 2005 to 2017. Born in Moroleón, Guanajuato in 1964 and currently residing in Santa Barbara at age 58, Carbajal is also an alumnus of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
