The City of Paso Robles announced on May 11 that it is inviting residents, commuters, students, and trail users to take part in two upcoming community outreach events about the proposed North River Road Multiuse Trail project.

The city said these events are designed to gather feedback from the public that will help shape the future design of the trail and support ongoing grant funding efforts. The planned Class I multiuse trail aims to improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity for people walking, biking, and rolling along the North River Road corridor.

According to the announcement, this segment is a key component of Paso Robles’ long-term “Grand Loop” vision. This vision includes a network of connected trails, sidewalks, bike facilities, and recreational corridors intended to create safer and more accessible routes for active transportation throughout Paso Robles. Completing this segment would help close a critical gap in the broader loop system while improving connections between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and other destinations across the city.

The first outreach event will be held Tuesday, May 12 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM outside City Hall near the Downtown Farmers’ Market. Community members are encouraged to stop by to share experiences walking or biking along North River Road; provide feedback on proposed features; learn about planned safety improvements; participate in interactive activities; and receive free safety swag.

A second event will take place Wednesday, May 13 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cuesta College North County Campus Library. This session offers an additional opportunity for students and others at Cuesta College’s campus—and members of the general public—to review information about the project in an evening setting during finals week activities. Attendees are encouraged to obtain appropriate parking permits or use designated visitor areas if driving but may also walk or bike onto campus.

For those unable to attend either event in person, community members can provide input through an online survey at https://tally.so/r/KYB12V.

The city reports that May is Bike Month and encourages residents interested in local bicycle programming or related events to check out resources like SLO Rideshare’s Bike Month calendar.
