The Paso Robles Community Services Department announced on April 7 that it is accepting applications for the city’s first Art and Culture Board. Applications, along with resumes, are due by Thursday, April 30 at 5:00 p.m., with interviews tentatively scheduled for May 13 or May 14.

The formation of this board is intended to support the administration of a public art program in Paso Robles. The board will play a role in advising on visual art matters within city-owned or leased spaces, helping determine locations for art placement, reviewing submissions, and selecting artworks for installation.

Wyatt Lund, Recreation Program Coordinator, said: “We’re excited to establish the City’s first Art and Culture Board in 2026, while launching a revised Visual Art in Public Places program. We encourage community members who are passionate and knowledgeable about art to apply and help shape the future of public art in Paso Robles.”

The five-member board will meet quarterly but may hold additional meetings depending on project timelines. To set up staggered terms among members, initial appointments will include one one-year partial term, two two-year partial terms, and two full three-year terms. Members serving partial terms can reapply for full terms without affecting their eligibility limit of three full terms.

Applicants must have at least three years of experience working or volunteering in areas such as youth arts education, performing arts, visual arts, literary arts or art collection curation. A resume is required with each application.

For more information about the application process or qualifications needed to serve on the board, interested individuals can contact Wyatt Lund at (805) 237-3990 or wlund@prcity.com.
