Paso Robles police investigate fatal crash at Golden Hill Road and State Route 46

On the morning of December 4, 2025, Paso Robles police and emergency personnel responded to a fatal collision at the intersection of Golden Hill Road and State Route 46. The incident involved a white four-door Lexus and a 2017 green and white Freightliner box truck.

According to authorities, the driver of the Lexus, a 63-year-old man from Paso Robles, was stopped at a red light on westbound SR-46 when the Freightliner approached from behind without slowing down and struck the vehicle. The impact resulted in the death of the Lexus driver.

The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 25-year-old Gean Marco HuamanCastro from Bakersfield, was arrested for vehicular manslaughter. He was later booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.

Police stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
