The Paso Robles Police Department announced on March 9 that officers responded to an incident involving a firearm on March 5, when a male suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at another man’s head and threatened his life in the 3300 block of Spring Street.

According to the department, the victim managed to escape unharmed while the suspect fled north from the area. Officers were unable to locate the suspect immediately after the incident.

Detectives continued their investigation and, on March 8, identified Irvin Hernandez, age 31, as the suspect. Authorities obtained both an arrest warrant and a search warrant for Hernandez’s apartment in the 3400 block of Spring Street.

At around 3:00 PM that day, members of the San Luis Obispo Regional SWAT Team assisted in serving the search warrant. For safety reasons, part of the apartment complex was evacuated during this operation. Hernandez was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported.

The police have not released further details about possible charges or court dates related to this case.
