Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services reminded residents and property owners on Mar. 26 about the city’s Weed Abatement Ordinance ahead of the upcoming fire season. Property inspections are set to begin on May 12, and owners must comply with maintenance requirements across their entire properties.

The ordinance aims to reduce fire hazards caused by overgrown vegetation and combustible debris. Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services said that following these rules helps protect not only individual properties but also neighboring homes.

According to the announcement, the requirements apply to all areas of a property, not just front yards. Residents are encouraged to help minimize fire risks throughout their neighborhoods.

Those with questions or who need contractor recommendations for weed abatement can contact Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services at 805-227-7560 or CRR@prcity.com. More information is available through the City of Paso Robles Weed Abatement Requirements.

The department thanked community members for contributing to a safer environment during fire season.
